Huawei's Watch Ultimate 2 emerges as the smartwatch upgrade you should consider, surpassing the Galaxy Watch Ultra

The tech giant, Huawei, has announced the launch of its latest smartwatch, the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2, set to hit European markets and beyond in October 2025. The watch boasts a unique tri-folding design, a sturdy octagonal body, and a host of advanced features that make it a standout in the smartwatch category.

The Watch Ultimate 2's design is a blend of elegance and ruggedness, with an octagonal case made of zirconium alloy and ceramic. It comes in two models: black and blue, with the blue variant featuring a striking dual-tone effect with white undertones.

The Watch Ultimate 2's OLED panel remains the same size as last year, with a resolution of 466 x 466, but it employs LTPO 2 technology for improved efficiency. The panel can reach an impressive 3,500 nits, although this may be considered excessive for everyday use.

The watch features a tri-folding design, making it easy to wear and carry. It comes with a larger fluoroelastomer band for diving, perfect for underwater adventures, and an additional metal band for everyday use.

The Watch Ultimate 2 is equipped with a sonar device that sends out audio pulses for testing purposes. It also includes a new antenna with better signal strength and dual-band GPS for improved accuracy while on a trail or running outdoors.

The watch's software has parallels to Wear OS smartwatches, offering a fluid UI and customizability. It includes three buttons, with one on the left and two on the right. The bottom right button serves as a shortcut for health data, calls, or workouts. The watch also features a built-in crown on the top button for navigating the interface.

The Watch Ultimate 2's battery life is impressive, extending over two days with heavy use and up to three days with medium use. This makes it one of the longest-lasting smartwatches in its category.

The watch also includes Huawei's new TruSense system, which consists of an ECG, PPG, and pressure sensors, along with a sensor for measuring SpO2 levels with greater accuracy. This system promises to provide users with comprehensive health data and insights.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 will retail at €999 ($1,175) for the blue model and €899 ($1,057) for the black model. This premium smartwatch is a testament to Huawei's commitment to innovation and quality in the tech industry.
