Immerse yourself in the untamed wilderness through the lens of virtual reality technology.

Corsica Ferries, in partnership with Wild Immersion, is offering passengers a remarkable virtual reality (VR) experience, aiming to showcase the world's rich biodiversity while raising awareness about the need to preserve it. The new VR experience has been introduced on Corsica Ferries' largest ship, the Pascal Lota, and is available on ten seats throughout the vessel.

Passengers embarking on this journey will be immersed in a captivating wild world, discovering the wonders of nature from the comfort of their seats. The experience costs €5, a portion of which goes towards financing educational and awareness-raising projects on flora and fauna, particularly focusing on the preservation of biodiversity and the protection of threatened or endangered species.

What awaits travelers ranges from close encounters with African lions to exploring the fur of Asian pandas. This multi-dimensional experience offers a unique sensory exploration of the planet, providing a realistic and immersive insight into the natural habitats of hundreds of species.

To create this VR experience, the Wild Immersion team traveled to some of the most remote locations worldwide, capturing 360° images in 40 countries over the course of a year and a half. Adrien Moisson, a veterinarian and former advertising executive, founded Wild Immersion with the primary goal of increasing awareness about the importance of protecting biodiversity and its species.

The collaboration between Wild Immersion and Corsica Ferries is part of a broader commitment by the shipping line towards environmental conservation. In 2017, Corsica Ferries implemented a detection system to help avoid collisions with cetaceans during crossings, a move aimed at aiding the preservation of marine species.

While there is currently no specific information available about VR experiences specifically related to Corsica, the company's operations could indirectly support conservation efforts by promoting sustainable tourism in the regions they serve. By doing so, the company potentially contributes to fundraising for conservation initiatives and raising awareness about environmental issues in the Mediterranean region.

For those interested in exploring Corsica, the island offers numerous hidden gems, such as hiking trails, beaches, and cultural sites that can be augmented by learning about the island's wildlife and ecosystems. Such knowledge can be gained through informative initiatives, possibly including advanced VR experiences in the future.

Passengers can learn about various species, such as African lions and Asian pandas, through an immersive virtual reality (VR) experience on the Pascal Lota, which aims to raise awareness for biodiversity preservation. A portion of the €5 fee for this experience finances educational projects on flora and fauna, particularly on threatened or endangered species.
