Important US retailers halt purchases of Fujifilm's X100VI, X-M5, and GFX100RF camera models for a second time
Fujifilm Camera Orders Delayed Due to US Tariffs
Major US retailers, including Adorama, B&H, and Moment, have paused taking orders for several Fujifilm camera models, including the X100VI, X-M5, GFX100RF, X-T5, X-S20, and X-T30 II. The primary reason for this delay is the ongoing tariff situation imposed by the US government, which has created uncertainty and logistic challenges [1][2].
The Fujifilm X100VI, in particular, had its orders suspended in April 2025 due to this "wackadoo tariff situation" [1]. Despite some retailers resuming taking orders for the X100VI on a backorder basis since late June 2025, shipping is estimated to begin around August 2025 [1][2].
For the other listed models, while explicit timelines are not clearly mentioned, it is implied that they are also affected by the same tariff-related supply chain issues, causing similar order pauses or delays in the US [4].
Fujifilm is one of the few brands that has not yet adjusted prices on camera gear in the US following increased tariff costs. Other brands like Canon, Sony, Leica, Sigma, and Nikon have already adjusted list prices on some lenses and cameras in the US following the reciprocal tariffs [3].
Hillary K. Grigonis, who leads the US coverage for Digital Camera World, reported on the situation. Grigonis, a licensed drone pilot and former Nikon shooter, has more than a decade of experience writing about cameras and technology. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including Business Insider, Digital Trends, Pocket-lint, Rangefinder, and The Phoblographer [5].
In April, Fujifilm paused pre-orders of the X100VI, X-M5, and GFX100RF to assess changes, including tariffs [2]. During an earnings call with investors, Fujifilm estimated that the new tariffs would cost the company about $140 million a year [2].
The X100VI's popularity has meant the compact camera has been hard to find in many locations. However, the X-M5 even popped up at some US retailers as in stock without the wait earlier this month [1].
