India's PC Market Witnesses Robust Growth in Q1 2025
The Indian PC market has displayed a robust performance in Q1 2025, as per the latest IDC report. The traditional market, encompassing desktops, notebooks, and workstations, surged by 8.1% year-over-year (YoY), resulting in 3.3 million units shipped during the quarter.
HP Inc. has emerged as a clear frontrunner, accounting for 29.1% of the market share in Q1 2025. The tech giant experienced impressive growth across both the consumer and commercial segments. Lenovo followed closely, capturing an 18.9% market share and recording impressive growth rates.
The consumer segment, which accounted for 8.9% YoY growth, was substantially fueled by Republic Day sales and a surge in shipments during March. The strong performance of the e-tail channel, which witnessed a 21.9% YoY increase, significantly contributed to this growth.
Notebook shipments grew by 13.8% YoY, while workstations increased by 30.4% YoY. In contrast, desktop shipments saw a minor decline of 2.4% YoY.
HP Inc. dominated both the consumer and commercial segments, holding a 32.7% share in the commercial segment. Lenovo exhibited the highest growth at 34.8% YoY, capturing the second-largest market share. Dell's shipments slightly declined by 3.4% YoY, but it remained in third place with a 15.6% share.
The commercial segment experienced a 7.5% YoY increase, driven primarily by demand from enterprises for commercial notebooks. However, commercial desktop shipments decreased by 2.5% YoY.
AI notebooks recorded a substantial 185.1% YoY growth, and the online retail channel also saw a notable 21.9% YoY increase.
