JK Tyre Aims to Become OEM Supplier for Innovative Tyre Pressure Monitoring Tech

JK Tyre, a leading Indian tyre manufacturer, is aiming to become an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) supplier for its innovative tyre pressure monitoring technology. The company's Managing Director, Anshuman Singhania, is currently in discussions with major OEMs to integrate this technology into vehicle dashboards.

JK Tyre's tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) has been gaining popularity among consumers of two- and three-wheelers. The data collected from these systems will not only help improve the company's products and performance but also aid consumers in optimising tyre usage and performance.

Currently, JK Tyre's TPMS is fitted into tyres, but the next generation will be embedded directly from the factory. This versatile technology is designed to cater to a wide range of vehicle types, including trucks, passenger vehicles, two- and three-wheelers, farm applications, and off-the-road vehicles. JK Tyre is actively negotiating with leading OEMs in the Indian automotive sector, such as Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra, to integrate this technology into vehicle dashboards. In addition to its OEM aspirations, JK Tyre also offers an aftermarket TPMS that can be retrofitted to existing tyres, sold under the JK Smart Tyre and TREEL brands.

JK Tyre's ambition to become an OEM supplier for its TPMS technology could significantly enhance vehicle safety and efficiency. By integrating this technology into dashboards, consumers can benefit from real-time tyre pressure monitoring, helping to optimise performance and reduce maintenance costs. With negotiations underway with major OEMs, this innovative technology could soon become a standard feature in Indian vehicles.
