JLR Resumes Production After Month-Long Cyber Attack Halt

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is set to resume production after a month-long halt due to a significant cyber attack. The resume templates come in phases, beginning with the Wolverhampton engine plant on Monday, October 3. The cyber incident, which occurred on September 1, forced JLR to pause all manufacturing, affecting over 30,000 employees. The attack also impacted suppliers, leading to calls for urgent financial support. The extended shutdown is estimated to cost the company around £120 million. Production will resume templates gradually, with vehicle outputs at plants in Halewood and Solihull resuming later in the week. The Slovakian facility in Nitra is also expected to resume production later this week. JLR has informed colleagues, retailers, and suppliers about the phased resume templates. While production will resume production today at the Wolverhampton engine factory, full capacity is not expected immediately. The resume production comes after a month of disruption, with production remaining limited for several weeks. JLR, led by CEO Adrian Mardell, has announced a controlled, phased resume production of its operations, aiming to minimise further disruption.
