Kia Sportage Refreshes With New Powertrains and Tech
Kia has updated its popular Sportage family SUV, introducing new powertrain options and additional tech features. The refreshed model is initially available with petrol or full hybrid news, with plug-in hybrid news set to arrive later in the year.
The new Sportage comes with a choice of three specifications: Pure, GT-Line, and GT-Line S. All models feature rain-sensing front wipers, climate control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and rear seats with a three-way split. Trailer Stability Assist is also standard.
Petrol models are powered by a 147bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, with a kerbweight of 1552kg and an 85% match figure of 1319kg. They can tow up to 1650kg and are front-wheel drive. Hybrid models, offering better performance with 235bhp, start from £34,425 and can tow 1510kg. They provide a choice of front- or four-wheel drive.
The plug-in hybrid news is expected to arrive in the second half of 2025, following its facelift and European premiere in mid-2025.
The refreshed Kia Sportage brings enhanced performance and tech features to the family SUV segment. With petrol, hybrid, and upcoming plug-in hybrid news options, it caters to a range of driver needs. The new model is set to arrive soon, with plug-in hybrid news variants following later in the year.
