KLM Orders 50 Airbus A350s, Installs Netherlands' First A350 Simulator
KLM has taken a significant step in expanding its fleet and preparing for the future. The Dutch airline has ordered 50 Airbus A350 aircraft, with options for 40 more. This move comes as KLM installs the Netherlands' first A350 flight simulator, manufactured by CAE, at its Schiphol-East facility.
The Airbus A350, praised by Air France-KLM CEO Benjamin Smith for its excellence and passenger appeal, will be a welcome addition to KLM's fleet. The simulator, built by CAE in Montreal, underwent rigorous testing before being shipped to Europe in parts. Despite logistical challenges due to its size, KLM successfully installed the simulator at its Schiphol-East facility.
The simulator is now ready for use, with the first A350 pilots expected to begin training shortly. This marks a milestone for KLM as it prepares to launch the A350 aircraft type.
KLM's order of 50 Airbus A350 aircraft, with options for 40 more, signals a commitment to growth and modernisation. The installation of the Netherlands' first A350 flight simulator, built by CAE, ensures KLM is well-prepared for the integration of this new aircraft type into its fleet.
