Latest Garmin Update Introduces Lifestyle Tracking for All Users: A Guide to Its Features and Acquisition
Garmin Set to Enter Screen-Free Fitness Market with Venu 4 Smartwatch Series
In a move that signals a shift in the fitness technology landscape, Garmin, a leading traditional sports watch manufacturer, is set to release a screen-free device over the next year. This announcement comes as Garmin, along with other sports watch brands, expresses interest in rivaling Whoop in the screen-free market.
The upcoming Garmin device, the Venu 4 smartwatch series, will introduce a new feature called Lifestyle Logging. This feature is reminiscent of the journal tool found in the Whoop 5.0 band, allowing users to track over 40 daily behaviours that impact their health through the Garmin Connect app.
The latest version of the Garmin Connect app already offers Lifestyle Logging as a new feature. Users can add this feature as a tile on the home page for easy access. To use Lifestyle Logging, users are required to tick any behaviours they did that day and cross any they didn't. This feature can be found under More/Health Stats in the app's menus.
Garmin's foray into screen-free technology is not its first step in this direction. Earlier this year, the company launched the Garmin Index Sleep Monitor, a screen-free tracker that only tracks sleep but has the technology to work 24/7. The launch of the Polar Loop band also indicates that other sports watch manufacturers may follow suit and release screen-free devices similar to Whoop.
With the introduction of the lifestyle logging feature initially with the new Venu 4 smartwatch series, which includes both 41 mm and 45 mm models, Garmin is poised to make a significant impact in the fitness technology market. The company's decision to enter the screen-free market and introduce Lifestyle Logging is a testament to its commitment to providing innovative solutions that cater to the evolving needs of fitness enthusiasts.
