Wuyang, the latest addition to the Overwatch 2 roster, is a unique support hero with a water-based kit that offers versatility in both healing and combat. Hailing from China, Wuyang brings a fresh perspective to the Support hero lineup, now boasting 12 members.
Abilities and Perks
Wuyang's primary fire ability is the Xuanwu Staff, which fires a damaging water orb that can be controlled and empowered to explode. His secondary fire ability is the Restorative Stream, which places a passive healing stream on an ally. Holding on the target allows for manual healing at an improved rate, consuming a resource.
The hero's Guardian Wave sends a water wave forward, increasing the healing received by allies and knocking enemies back. Rushing Torrent allows Wuyang to ride water for enhanced speed and jumping ability. His ultimate ability, Tidal Blast, protects an ally or himself with water that explodes after a short duration, knocking down enemies and providing significant healing to the target.
Wuyang also has a support role passive that causes him to begin regenerating health more quickly. He has four unique perks to choose from in quick play or competitive. The recommended perks are Balance and Ebb and Flow. The perk Balance increases Restorative Stream's passive healing by 40% for two seconds when damage is dealt with water orbs. Ebb and Flow causes Guardian Wave to rewind to its starting location, dealing 50% decreased damage during the rewind.
Falling Rain is another major perk for Wuyang, allowing simultaneous control of three water orbs that deal 60% decreased damage and have 25% decreased empowered explosion radius. The perk Overflow grants 10 ammo and 33% healing resource when Rushing Torrent is activated.
Availability and Trial Period
Wuyang is currently not available in Stadium. The hero trial will be available from Thursday, August 14, until Monday, August 18. The trial period will go live at 11 am PT / 7 pm BST. Wuyang will fully launch in Overwatch 2 Season 18, scheduled for Tuesday, August 26th at 11 am PT / 7 pm BST.
