Leica Reports €596M Revenue in 2024/2025, Driven by Camera Hits and Partnerships
Leica Camera has announced a 7.6% increase in revenue to approximately €596 million for the 2024/2025 financial year. This growth was fuelled by strong performances in key segments and strategic partnerships.
Leica's success story began with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Leica I, the first mass-produced 35mm camera. This milestone event sparked interest and contributed to sales growth.
The Leica Q3, featuring a 43mm fixed focal length option since September 2024, emerged as the best-selling digital camera. Meanwhile, the Leica SL3, SL3-S, and D-Lux 8 also proved popular, along with the M11-D for the M-System. The introduction of the Leica M11-D, a variant without a digital display, further expanded Leica's offerings.
Leica's partnership with Xiaomi boosted the mobile phone segment. The Leica LUX camera, released in February, replicated the handling of a classic Leica camera, attracting many users. Over 1 million downloads of the Leica LUX app for iPhone were reported, indicating the segment's growth.
Regionally, Europe led with a 7.6% revenue growth, with Germany at 11.4% and Asia at 7.3%. North America saw a 6.2% increase, demonstrating resilience despite the impact of Trump's tariffs.
Leica Camera's 2024/2025 financial year was marked by a significant 7.6% revenue increase, driven by growth in the core photo and mobile phone segments. The celebration of the Leica I's 100th anniversary, popular camera models, strategic partnerships, and regional growth contributed to this success.
