MAN Unveils First Electric Coach, Lion's Coach 14 E
MAN Truck & Bus, a Munich-based manufacturer and part of the Traton group, has unveiled its first fully electric coach, the Lion's Coach 14 E. The new model, 14 metres long and capable of covering up to 650 kilometres on a single charge, has already received recognition for its digital enhancements, winning the Busworld award in its category.
The Lion's Coach 14 E utilises MAN's Electric Central Engine, the MAN eCD330, and proprietary drivetrain technology from MAN's eTruck series. It features 53 seats and maintains a similar luggage capacity to diesel-based vehicles, ensuring comfort and practicality for passengers. The coach is equipped with a CO2 heat pump air conditioning system and MAN's latest Assistance Systems, providing a comfortable and safe journey.
At the Busworld exhibition, MAN showcased not only the Lion's Coach 14 E but also other innovative vehicles such as NEOPLAN's Skyliner Auwärter Edition and Tourliner C, and the MAN TGE Coach minibus. The new electric bus model is a significant step forward for MAN Truck & Bus, which is known for producing electric vehicle variants.
The Lion's Coach 14 E, with its 320-480 kWh usable battery capacity and 330 kW power output, is a testament to MAN's commitment to sustainable mobility. Its solar panels further enhance its eco-friendliness, making it a notable addition to the electric vehicle market.
