Maruti Suzuki Delivers Record 1.65 Lakh Cars in Navratri, Boosted by GST Cuts
Maruti Suzuki has set a new record during the Navratri festive period, delivering 1.65 lakh new cars to customers in just eight days. This impressive feat comes amidst a strong demand for cars, largely driven by the Indian government's recent GST rate cuts.
The company's total sales in September 2025 reached 1,89,665 units, marking a 2.7 percent increase from the same period last year. This growth was largely fueled by exports, which hit an all-time high of 42,204 units, a staggering 52.2 percent increase year-on-year. Maruti Suzuki's compact cars remained in high demand, with 66,882 units sold in September 2025, compared to 60,480 units in the same month last year.
Despite the popularity of several models, the utility vehicle segment recorded 48,695 units in September 2025, a significant drop of 61,549 units year-on-year. However, Maruti Suzuki's overall performance was robust, with the company projecting to deliver over 2 lakh cars during the nine-day Navratri festive period. As of now, the company has received 3.5 lakh bookings, with more deliveries expected in the coming weeks and months.
Maruti Suzuki's strong performance during the Navratri festive period reflects the growing demand for cars in India, boosted by the government's GST rate cuts. The company's commitment to passing on these benefits to buyers has likely contributed to this surge in demand. With record exports and robust sales, Maruti Suzuki is well-positioned to continue its growth trajectory.
