Maruti Suzuki elevates safety standards, reveals innovative safety attributes throughout its entire lineup

Maruti Suzuki, India's leading automobile manufacturer, has taken a significant step forward in vehicle safety with the introduction of advanced safety systems across its Nexa and Arena model ranges. These enhancements, standardized under the Nexa Safety Shield and Arena Safety Shield initiatives, aim to raise safety benchmarks and make premium features accessible to a broader audience.

Key features common to both lines include six airbags (front, side, curtain) for comprehensive occupant protection, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist, reverse parking sensors and camera assistance, three-point ELR seat belts with reminders for all occupants, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and pedestrian protection compliance that meets regulatory standards.

In addition to these standard safety measures, Maruti Suzuki has incorporated high-tech enhancements in specific newer models. The new Maruti Suzuki Invicto, for example, boasts an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, while the upcoming eVITARA model will feature Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including semi-autonomous features. Other models offer a 360-degree camera system for all-around visibility during parking and tight situations, heads-up displays showing speed and navigation data without diverting driver attention, and front parking sensors for better spatial awareness.

Maruti Suzuki's commitment to safety accessibility is evident, as these safety upgrades are now standard across its product lines, from entry-level hatchbacks to SUVs. This move aligns with the company's strategic priority on safety, as stated by Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), Partho Banerjee. Maruti Suzuki aims to deliver technologically advanced solutions that inspire confidence on the road.

Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki is aligning with stricter national and international norms by making ESP and six airbags mandatory across all its models, enhancing pedestrian protection systems, and offering Level 2 ADAS technologies to approach international safety benchmarks. These measures reflect the company's ongoing efforts to take doubts about the safety of their vehicles out of the minds of consumers.

Maruti Suzuki has made significant strides in enhancing vehicle safety in FY 2024-25, and with these latest developments, the company continues to set the bar high in the Indian automobile industry. Models like the Dzire have already earned top ratings under programs like the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP), demonstrating Maruti Suzuki's dedication to safety and customer satisfaction.
