Mercedes-Benz Trucks Kicks Off Electrification with SLC Programme
Mercedes-Benz Trucks has launched its Sustainable Logistics Consulting (SLC) programme, teaming up with logistics providers to promote electrification in the industry. The first transport assignment using an eActros truck is underway with Große-Vehne Speditions, with the company's managing director, Jens Hildenbrand, praising the support received.
The SLC programme offers a comprehensive approach to transitioning to electric trucks. It begins with configuring a tailored transformation strategy for each customer, followed by an in-depth analysis of their logistics routes. An electrification concept is then developed, suitable products identified, and depot charging infrastructure planned. The process culminates in real-world assignments using e-trucks, such as the eActros.
Große-Vehne Speditions, one of 17 logistics partners using the eActros, is making double-digit trips daily with its two eActros trucks, each covering around 180km. The eActros 300, equipped with three battery packs totalling 336 kWh, offers a range of up to 220 km per charge. It can be charged at up to 160 kW, with a 60% charge taking just over an hour at a standard DC rapid charging station.
The SLC programme is a significant step towards Mercedes-Benz Trucks' goal of achieving balance-sheet carbon neutrality. By supporting logistics partners like Große-Vehne Speditions in electrifying their fleets, the company is making a tangible impact on reducing emissions in the logistics sector.
