Meta's New Ray-Ban Glasses Upgrade AI, Battery, and Video
Meta's new Ray-Ban glasses, an upgraded version of the original, have hit the market. They offer hands-free, voice-activated AI features like object identification and live translation. However, reviews on these features are mixed, with some users finding them helpful while others had issues with accuracy or predictability.
The new glasses boast improved battery life, rated at about eight hours by Meta. This is a significant upgrade from the original, with reviewers reporting over five and a half hours of continuous music playback and one lasting from 8 a.m. to nearly 9 p.m. with occasional use.
Another notable improvement is the 3K video recording feature, praised for its enhanced video quality compared to the original's 12MP still camera photography. Meta has also announced a software update for 60-FPS video recording, slated for release on 23 April 2024.
While the new Meta Ray-Ban glasses offer upgrades in battery life and video recording, the AI features remain a mixed bag. They are a decent upgrade over the original, but those seeking a more advanced experience may want to wait for the upcoming Ray-Ban Display glasses.
