Minister Pentz Strengthens Ties in South Korea, Seeking New Cooperation
Manfred Pentz, the Minister for International Affairs, has embarked on a multi-day working visit to South Korea, accompanied by a delegation of business representatives and regional economic development agencies. The trip, which began on September 14, 2025, aims to strengthen political and economic ties with this leading Asian innovation hub.
Pentz's visit follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed last year with the South Korean province of Chungnam. During his stay, he will meet with high-ranking officials, visit companies, and discuss issues at the digital traffic control center in Seoul. The minister hopes to build bridges for Hesse, Europe, and the joint innovative power of free and market-oriented societies. He also aims to foster new cooperation with Korean companies, following numerous successful investments by Samsung and Hyundai in Hesse that have created jobs.
Pentz emphasizes the importance of democracies working more closely together, highlighting the potential for collaboration between South Korea's innovative ecosystem and Hesse's economic strengths.
The minister's visit to South Korea seeks to intensify political and economic cooperation, building on existing ties and exploring new opportunities for collaboration. With South Korea's status as a leading innovation hub, the visit is expected to yield significant benefits for both nations.
