Mönchengladbach: Essential Road Work Causes Closures and Restrictions
Mönchengladbach residents and commuters should be aware of several road closures and restrictions in the coming weeks. These are part of essential maintenance and construction work, as announced by the city's road construction information service.
Starting on 14.08.19, Tomper Weg 32 will be fully closed from 6 AM to 6 PM for crane installation. Meanwhile, Dahlener Street, near the Eisenbahn bridge area, will be closed from 10.08.19 for bridge work, expected to be completed by 11.08.19.
From 17.08.19, 7 AM, Hermann-Piecq-Anlage will be closed for installation of scaffolding and a mobile elevated work platform, with completion expected by 20.08.19 (10 PM).
Niersstraße 36 will have a width restriction from 01.09.19 for cable laying (fiberglass), and Voigtshofer Allee 36 will have a similar restriction from 16.08.19.
The Friedrich-Ebert-Straße will be completely closed on 14.08.19 for crane installation. Additionally, structural inspections are planned for the two bridges (Viersener Street and Bettrather Street) to ensure their safety. Lastly, Schloß-Dyck-Straße 154 will have a width restriction from 08.09.19 for cable laying (fiberglass).
These closures and restrictions are necessary for various maintenance and improvement works. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are advised to plan their routes accordingly and allow extra time for their journeys.
