MWC25 Kigali: Africa's Digital Frontier in Focus
MWC25 Kigali, a major tech event, is set to take place in Rwanda's capital. The conference, organized by GSMA under the leadership of CEO John Hoffman, will focus on four key themes: connectivity, AI, fintech, and Africa's digital frontier. It will feature a Fintech Summit, a debut Security Summit, and an opening ceremony led by President Paul Kagame.
The event, scheduled for 21-23 October at the Kigali Convention Centre, will be supported by global and regional companies such as Huawei, MTN, ZTE, and Orange, who are also sponsors. The Ministry of ICT and Innovation (MINICT) and Smart Africa are event partners, reflecting the local and regional significance of the conference.
MWC Kigali will host several notable events within its agenda. These include the Orange Social Ventures Prize award ceremony for social innovators in Africa & the Middle East, and the co-location of The Future of Education & Work in Africa (FEWA) for the first time. Additionally, the GSMA Ministerial Programme will be part of the MWC Kigali agenda for the first time, gathering innovators, policymakers, and business leaders to discuss Africa's digital ambitions.
