New Guide Aims to Streamline Product-Neutral Notebook Procurement by Public Authorities

A new guideline has been introduced to assist public contracting authorities in procuring notebooks in a product-neutral manner. Developed by the Bitkom specialist committee on product-neutral tenders, the guide was unveiled at the 12th German Procurement Day, with support from the Federal Employment Agency and other stakeholders.

The guide is designed for use by federal, state, and local authorities. It enables these bodies to consider individual technical aspects and assign weights based on their specific needs. The guide provides a list of technical criteria to describe and compare notebooks and their operating environment, ensuring a fair and unbiased procurement process.

The workshop at the German Procurement Day served as a platform to present this guide, fostering a discussion on best practices in product-neutral tenders.

The new guideline aims to promote fair and transparent procurement of notebooks by public authorities. By considering individual technical needs and providing clear criteria for comparison, the guide supports a product-neutral tendering process.
