Numerous websites and service providers encountered outages on Thursday, yet the internet community persisted in generating humor from the situation.

Online connectivity has been disrupted. Users of social networking platforms are expressing their displeasure.

Thursday afternoon, in eastern time, saw numerous sites and services - like Twitch, Gmail, Discord, Nintendo, and more - experiencing some serious downtime. As the internet crumbled, it didn't take long for the social media masses to react. People were understandably panicking.

Screenshots from Down Detector popped up everywhere, displaying a sea of red, indicating just about everything was out. It's important to note that Down Detector relies on user-reported issues, so even during downtime, you might still have access to sites that are experiencing spikes. (Disclosure: our parent company, Ziff Davis, also happens to own Down Detector.)

Twitter was ablaze with reactions, ranging from the simple "Oh no, down detector going crazy" to more sophisticated memes and jokes.
