OpenAI, Allied for Startups Unveil 'Hacktivate AI' Report to Boost EU's AI Adoption
OpenAI, partnering with Allied for Startups, has published a report titled 'Hacktivate AI' just ahead of the EU's 'Apply AI Strategy' rollout. The report, a product of a policy hackathon held in Brussels, presents 20 political initiatives aimed at accelerating AI adoption across Europe.
The report, 'Hacktivate AI', is seen as a catalyst for open dialogue on AI policy while also providing a foundation for OpenAI's expansion in the EU. It advocates for reducing national disparities in digital law implementation and unifying the internal market to facilitate AI deployment and cross-border projects.
Among its proposals are the 'Fast-Track Standards' concept, which suggests quickly introducing proven international AI standards like ISO 42001 or 27001 into European practice. Another key proposal is the 'Innovative Institutions' approach, aiming to speed up decision-making processes in administration to reduce bureaucracy and encourage experimentation.
Several proposals focus on simplifying framework conditions and achieving uniform regulation. The 'Relentless Harmonisation' proposal seeks to align national AI regulations, while the 'First Adoption Grace Period' suggests a transition phase for SMEs to test their first AI applications before all AI Act requirements apply. OpenAI aims to facilitate experiments and promote learning processes for SMEs to bring more companies closer to AI technology.
The 'Hacktivate AI' report, a result of OpenAI and Allied for Startups' collaboration, presents a comprehensive set of proposals to accelerate AI adoption in Europe. These initiatives, if implemented, could significantly simplify AI deployment, reduce bureaucracy, and bring more companies into the AI fold.
