In a move to expand its budget-friendly offerings, Oppo has unveiled two new smartphones, the Oppo A5i and the Oppo A5i Pro. Both devices cater to users seeking dependable performance without breaking the bank, but they do come with some key differences.

The Oppo A5i, priced between ₹12,000 and ₹13,000, is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 1, a 6nm-based octa-core chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz. With its capable hardware, polished software experience, and a dual-camera system led by a 50MP primary lens, the A5i is aimed at delivering high value in the affordable mid-range smartphone category. The device boasts a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging, offering up to 16 hours of video playback on a single charge. The A5i comes with a lightweight polycarbonate body, featuring a matte finish design in classic black and sky blue color options.

The Oppo A5i Pro, priced around ₹14,500-₹15,000, is positioned as a budget-friendly 4G smartphone, similar to the A5i. However, it offers some enhancements over its counterpart. The A5i Pro features a more advanced camera setup with a 50MP main rear shooter, compared to the A5i's 8MP primary sensor. The device also sports a larger 6,000 mAh battery, which, combined with its 45W SuperVOOC fast charging, promises a slightly more premium experience for power users in the budget space.

One of the standout features of the Oppo A5i Pro is its enhanced durability, with an IP65 water protection rating, compared to the A5i's IP54 rating. Additionally, the A5i Pro offers up to 12GB of RAM with extended RAM options, although the A5i does not have these features.

Despite the differences, both devices share similarities. They both feature a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 1000 nits peak brightness. They also offer a 5MP selfie camera and use the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 chipset. However, the performance differences are likely minimal.

Both the Oppo A5i and A5i Pro are rolling out in select Asian markets, with global availability expected soon. The Oppo A5i Pro, with its larger battery and faster charging, is a slightly more premium option for power users in the budget space, while the Oppo A5i offers a solid choice for users seeking dependable performance without breaking the bank.

The Oppo A5i Pro, with its advanced camera setup, larger battery, and faster charging, demonstrates its potential as a more premium option on social media platforms, especially for power users seeking a budget-friendly 4G smartphone. On the other hand, the Oppo A5i, equipped with a 50MP primary lens, 5,000 mAh battery, and 90Hz refresh rate display, showcases its value in the affordable mid-range smartphone category, appealing to users who prefer gadgets that offer dependable performance without the high-end price tag.
