Parisian authorities urge Renault to manufacture drones intended for use in Ukraine.

Check this out, internet peeps! French automaker Renault has been chatting with the French government about the potential production of drones over in Ukraine. Renault spilled the beans on Sunday, saying that the Ministry of Defense had given them a friendly nudge about drone manufacturing. Their spokesperson said, "We've had discussions, but we're still holding off on making a decision until we get more deets about this project from the ministry." The ministry, in typical bureaucratic fashion, told Reuters they'd let Renault make their own call on whether to join forces on the drone project.

Last Friday, Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu dropped a hint on the LCI channel. He said that France was looking to team up a big French carmaker with a small defense company to establish drone assembly lines in Ukraine. Lecornu didn't name names, leaving it to the carmakers to make their own announcements.

By the way, reports are buzzing that Renault might team up with some small and medium-sized French defense companies to manufacture drones in Ukraine, setting up production sites away from the battle lines. But Renault hasn't confirmed their participation, and the French government hasn't officially hinted that Renault is on board.
