Peugeot GTi Makes a Return: Electric Hot Hatch e-208 Is Here Again

The e-208 GTi is inspired by Peugeot's legendary 205 GTi, and it's like a sportier, sleeker version of the e208. It sports a swanky new front bumper, a larger rear wing, and a prominent diffuser under the rear bumper. It's also got styling cues reminiscent of the 205 GTi from the 80s, including wheel design and snazzy red and black badging. The new GTi's been dropped by 30mm and widened, giving it some serious stance.
Under the hood, the car's powered by an electric motor that dishes out 276 horses, sending the power to the front wheels through a limited-slip differential. This puppy can hit 62mph in 5.7 seconds, making it quicker and beefier than both the Mini JCW Electric and Alpine A290.
Inside, you get a dash of red and black trimmings, harking back to the old 205 GTi, along with the e-208's familiar 10-in touchscreen and digital driver display. The new car comes with better brakes, sticky Michelin tyres, improved suspension, and a recalibrated steering system for enhanced agility.
The battery's been given a slight upgrade to 54kWh, offering a claimed range of 217 miles. It can refill from 20 to 80 percent in 30 minutes with a 100kWh charger.
