Philo Adds HBO Max, Discovery Plus to Core Plan, Hikes Price to $33

Philo, the live TV streaming service, has announced updates to its Core plan. Starting Tuesday, subscribers will gain access to ad-supported HBO Max and Discovery Plus titles within their respective apps, using their Philo account for activation. However, a price increase is also on the horizon.

The Core plan, which offers over 70 channels including Hallmark, TLC, and A&E, along with an unlimited DVR and thousands of on-demand titles, will see its price rise from $28 to $33 per month. This increase will affect new customers starting Tuesday and existing subscribers a month later.

Core subscribers can currently stream on up to three devices simultaneously and create up to 10 profiles. While Philo plans to introduce ad-free upgrade options and in-app streaming for Discovery Plus and select HBO content in early 2026, some legacy customers have recently received notice about changes to their subscription prices.

Starting Tuesday, Philo's Core plan will include ad-supported HBO Max and Discovery Plus, providing subscribers with more content options. However, this enhancement comes with a price increase, which will be implemented in stages over the next month.
