Premier Energies Wins $19.95M Benin Solar Project, Boosting Clean Energy Access
Premier Energies, a leading Indian solar manufacturer, has secured a $19.95m contract to install solar power systems in the Republic of Benin. The project, funded by EXIM Bank and EBID, will see 750 rooftop solar systems installed at crucial facilities nationwide.
The initiative, a part of Benin's national clean energy programme, will benefit district police stations, educational institutions, health centres, and border surveillance units. Premier Energies will execute the project in partnership with Benin's General Directorate of Energy Planning and Rural Electrification.
The company, established in 1995, will also install over 4,400 solar streetlights and 650 solar water heaters across the country. Chiranjeev Saluja, CEO of Premier Energies, expects these projects to enhance community safety, healthcare services, educational infrastructure, and overall energy sustainability in Benin.
In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026, Premier Energies reported a 55.3% increase in net profit to Rs3.07bn and a 9.9% increase in net sales to Rs18.2bn compared to the same period in the previous year.
Premier Energies' solar power projects in Benin are set to improve access to clean energy and bolster essential services. The company's strong financial performance indicates its capability to deliver these significant projects, contributing to Benin's sustainable energy future.
