Roles and Responsibilities
Binance offers three distinct roles within its Compliance and Legal department: Product Counsel, Compliance Operations Analyst, and Compliance Project Coordinator.
The Product Counsel role acts as the primary legal counsel for multiple product verticals, providing end-to-end legal support from product development to launch and ongoing governance. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating product documentation, user terms, and commercial agreements aligned with regulatory standards across jurisdictions.
The Compliance Operations Analyst role is responsible for preparing and submitting Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to regulatory bodies such as AUSTRAC and the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). This role also handles escalations from global compliance teams, ensuring timely, accurate reporting that meets all regulatory requirements.
The Compliance Project Coordinator role provides operational support for compliance and legal projects by preparing documents, tracking deadlines, maintaining organized records, coordinating compliance vendor solutions, conducting research on AML/CTF, and improving workflows under supervision.
Requirements
Each role requires specific qualifications and skills. For the Product Counsel role, a qualified lawyer admitted in a leading jurisdiction with 6-10 years post-qualification experience in financial services, fintech, crypto, or top-tier law firms is preferred.
The Compliance Operations Analyst role requires knowledge of AML/CTF laws and suspicious reporting procedures, as well as experience in compliance operations and regulatory reporting.
The Compliance Project Coordinator role seeks individuals with skills in project coordination and operational support within legal/compliance contexts.
