The Stelato S9T, a new electric wagon, is set to make waves in the Chinese premium EV market. Backed by tech giant Huawei, this new model is an extension of the successful Stelato S9 line, which has been gaining traction in China.
The Stelato S9T will be available in two main variants: a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV).
The BEV version, powered by a 100 kWh ternary lithium battery, offers a range of 801 km according to CLTC in RWD and 675 km in AWD configurations. The RWD model boasts a single 227 kW motor, while the AWD variant adds an additional 158 kW motor, delivering a combined output of 385 kW (516 hp).
The EREV version features a 37 kWh or 53.4 kWh battery, a rear electric motor of 227 kW, and a 118 kW internal combustion engine acting as a generator. This setup promises a single 354 km battery range option, which can be extended to 1,305 km with the ICE generator.
Both variants will incorporate Huawei’s advanced driving system, ADS 4.0, which uses inputs from multiple sensors, including lidars and cameras, to enhance safety and driving experience.
The Stelato S9T is significant in the Chinese market for several reasons. It aims to compete with established luxury brands, bringing a high-end electric wagon option to Chinese consumers.
