Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 Glasses Return with Enhancements
Meta has brought back its Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses, offering improved features and capabilities for consumers. The glasses, which start at $379, are now available in the US, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
One of the key upgrades in the Gen 2 glasses is the video capability. They are equipped with an ultrawide 12MP camera that can record videos in 3K Ultra HD at 60fps. This makes it possible to capture high-quality videos with ease.
The Gen 2 glasses also boast a significant battery life improvement. Consumers can expect double the battery life, allowing the glasses to last up to eight hours with typical use and charge to 50% in approximately 20 minutes. The on-the-go charging case provides an additional 48 hours of battery time.
Meta is eager to sell more of the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses, as indicated by the company's efforts to improve the product. The Live translation capabilities on the AI glasses now support German and Portuguese, making them more accessible to a wider audience.
In addition, Meta plans to update its hands-free filming capabilities "later this fall," bringing hyperlapse and slow motion options to users for all of its AI glasses. This includes the Ray-Ban Meta glasses and the upcoming Oakley Meta HSTN glasses, which will receive the "Conversation Focus" update.
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses come in a variety of styles, including the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer (Gen 2) Shiny Cosmic Blue Transitions Sapphire Lenses, the Ray-Ban Meta Skyler (Gen 2) Shiny Mystic Violet Transitions Amethyst Lenses, and the Ray-Ban Meta Headliner (Gen 2) Shiny Asteroid Grey with Transitions Emerald Lenses.
Consumers can purchase the enhanced Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses at meta.com or Ray-Ban.com. Brazil is expected to receive the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses, but the official release date is yet to be announced.
