New Chinese Hybrid SUV, the Tank 700, Gains Popularity in Kazakhstan
The automotive landscape in Kazakhstan is seeing a shift, with the Tank 700, a new hybrid SUV, rapidly gaining popularity. This model, although its manufacturer remains unspecified, has been certified for production by China's Ministry of Industry.
The Tank 700 boasts impressive dimensions of 5105 x 2061 x 1985 mm and a wheelbase of 3000 mm. It is powered by a Hi4-Z powertrain based on a 2.0L engine, delivering 251 hp. The vehicle also features a 59.05 kWh traction battery, enabling up to 190 km of electric range.
The Tank 700 comes in at least two notable hybrid versions. The Hi4-Z variant, expected to be available around August 2025, is a high-performance luxury hybrid. It combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with two electric motors to deliver a total hybrid system output of 865 hp (about 645 kW). The exact individual power outputs of each electric motor are not separately specified, but together with the gasoline engine, they generate this massive combined output.
On the other hand, the Hi4-T variant was officially launched on February 26, 2024. This version uses a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo gasoline engine paired with a P2 electric motor system. Its combined power output is 385 kW (about 516 hp), with peak torque of 800 Nm (850 Nm for the limited edition).
