Riot Games' upcoming fighting title, 2XKO, enters beta in September, permitting cross-platform progression from PC to Xbox. Additionally, a character from the hit series Arcane will be included in the game's roster.
2XKO Closed Beta Kicks Off with League of Legends' Vi
Riot Games has announced that Vi, the fan-favourite character from League of Legends and the animated series Arcane, will be joining the playable roster of the upcoming fighting game 2XKO. This news marks an exciting addition to the game, which is set to launch in beta form later this year.
The closed beta for 2XKO is scheduled to begin on September 9, 2025, exclusively for PC platforms. This extended soft launch will serve as a continuous beta phase, operating 24/7 except for necessary maintenance. Players who have participated in earlier Alpha Lab 1 or 2 tests on PC or console playtests are already eligible for the closed beta. For others, Riot Games is allowing applicants to sign up on the official website for a chance to participate.
During the closed beta, players will have the opportunity to try out a build of the game that includes the characters revealed so far, including Vi. Other champions previously confirmed for 2XKO include Ahri, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Jinx, Illaoi, and Yasuo. There is speculation that Vi's partner, Caitlyn, may also be added to the playable roster.
2XKO supports full cross-progression, allowing players to carry over their progress from PC to consoles (Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5) once those versions release, which is expected to happen in 2025. However, console versions are not part of the closed beta launch itself.
Regarding Xbox Game Pass benefits, no explicit perks or early access have been reported. The rollout currently emphasises PC closed beta access and cross-progression for future console players, but no direct integration or benefits tied to Xbox Game Pass have been announced.
