ROG Xbox Ally & Nintendo Switch Get New Storage Options
ASUS' ROG Xbox Ally and Nintendo Switch users now have more storage options. Unlicensed compatible memory cards can be used in both consoles. Meanwhile, Western Digital (WD) introduces its licensed WD_Black SN7100X for ROG Xbox Ally, while SanDisk rolls out Xbox Ally licensed microSD cards.
The WD_Black SN7100X, available in 2 TB and 4 TB models, is priced at 143 euros and 275 euros respectively. Despite being licensed for ROG Xbox Ally, its specifications are identical to the WD_Black SN7100, which retails at 134 euros for 2 TB and 270 euros for 4 TB, without the Xbox license.
SanDisk, known for its Nintendo Switch licensed microSD cards like the Pokémon edition (256 GB, up to 100 MB/s read, 90 MB/s write), is now launching Xbox Ally licensed microSD cards. These will come in 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB capacities, promising up to 200 MB/s read and 140 MB/s write speeds. Pricing is set at 58 euros, 120 euros, and 240 euros respectively.
Any other M.2 2280 SSD supporting PCIe and NVMe can also work in the ROG Xbox Ally (X). Pre-orders for both ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handheld consoles have begun.
With these new storage options, users of ROG Xbox Ally and Nintendo Switch can enhance their gaming experiences. The WD_Black SN7100X and SanDisk's Xbox Ally licensed microSD cards offer increased capacity and performance, providing more choices for consumers.
