Samsung Galaxy Tab gains access to Kobo's digital bookstore, referred to as the Readers Hub
The Samsung Galaxy Tab, a new Tablet PC, has been introduced to the market, bringing with it a host of exciting features. One such feature is the introduction of the 'Media Hub' and 'Music Hub', additional applications designed to enhance the multimedia experience.
These new applications, similar to the 'Readers Hub', are designed to work with Android 2.2 and are expected to be used on future Samsung devices, including smartphones. The 'Readers Hub', developed by Kobo, is already a staple on the Galaxy Tab, offering a wide range of ebooks in multiple languages for international users.
The 'Media Hub' provides access to a world of films and videos, while the 'Music Hub' offers a vast array of music tunes. Both applications offer easy navigation, customization, and multi-format support, making them versatile tools for entertainment.
The 'Readers Hub' on the Galaxy Tab is built specifically for Android 2.2 and allows for page turning through tapping or swiping, with a table of contents for easy navigation. Users can also add ebooks bought or downloaded from other sources to the Kobo application.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab also comes with a built-in Accelerometer, allowing for easy switching between horizontal and landscape mode. The applications also provide various font options and sizes for customization.
In a partnership with Kobo, the Galaxy Tab's Kobo application offers access to over 2.2 million ebooks in ePub, PDF, and Adobe DRM formats. However, it's important to note that the 'Media Hub' and 'Music Hub' are not developed by Kobo, although they might offer similar features and potentially support multiple languages for international users, similar to the 'Readers Hub'.
Despite extensive search efforts, no clear information could be found on Michael Kozlowski, a name associated with these applications. However, it's worth noting that Linda Kozlowski, an American actress famous for her role in "Crocodile Dundee," is not connected to these developments.
