Samsung Galaxy XR AR Glasses Unveiled October 22
Samsung is set to unveil its highly anticipated Galaxy XR augmented reality (AR) glasses on October 22. Pre-orders will open between October 15 and 21, with the device hitting Samsung stores on October 20.
The Galaxy XR is expected to be lightweight, tipping the scales at less than 500 grams, making it lighter than both the Meta Quest 3 and the Apple Vision Pro. The device, codenamed Project Moohan, has been showcased at various events throughout 2025, generating buzz among tech enthusiasts.
Rumors suggest the Galaxy XR will retail for around $2,000, placing it in the same price bracket as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 but cheaper than the Apple Vision Pro. Samsung is planning a debut event in South Korea for the Galaxy XR, presumably before October 15.
Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly shifting focus from its Vision Pro headset to smart glasses. The tech giant has paused development on a new Vision Pro in favor of Apple Glasses. Samsung, however, is forging ahead with the Galaxy XR, set to launch before the end of October, according to a Korean publication.
