Saudi artificial intelligence company Humane is set to debut its Arabic version of ChatGPT by the end of August.

Saudi Arabia's artificial intelligence (AI) company, Humane, is gearing up for a significant milestone. By the end of August 2025, the company is scheduled to launch ALLaM, an Arabic-language version of ChatGPT, designed specifically for Arabic users and local dialects [1][2][4].

ALLaM, the first fully locally-built Arabic AI foundation model, is the result of the hard work and dedication of a team of 40 Saudi PhD researchers who have been working tirelessly inside the Kingdom [4]. Using proprietary datasets, they have ensured that the model is deeply rooted in local knowledge and context.

The launch of ALLaM aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals of diversifying the economy and becoming a leader in AI technology [1][4]. Tareq Amin, the CEO of Humane, has confirmed the end of August timeframe in multiple interviews in early August 2025 [1][2][4].

Humane was created with the aim of leading the transformation by building a modern technological foundation that boosts GDP, localises technology, and empowers Saudi talent. The company's ambitions extend beyond the local market, with the ultimate goal of ranking among the top five global data center operators [5]. Humane also aims to develop AI infrastructure from the ground up and position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in the field, similar to its position in oil and energy.

The new model is expected to create new opportunities for innovation in areas such as healthcare and energy, as Humane's AI models are designed to meet both domestic and global user demands. With substantial investment from the Public Investment Fund, Humane is pursuing an ambitious agenda to shift the Kingdom away from oil dependency [6].

Tareq Amin, the CEO of Humane, believes in the technical capabilities of Saudi engineers and leaders. He aims to achieve a valuation on par with the world's leading AI firms and encourages and empowers Saudi talent in the AI sector [7].

In addition to the government offering grants of up to €1,800 towards the cost of solar panels [8], Humane believes it has the talent, resources, and drive to achieve its global goals and leave a global mark on the AI sector, generating a significant impact on the Saudi economy.
