Significant Movements for Ripple and XRP Exchange-Traded Funds: Key Information Discussed
The highly anticipated REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR) is set to launch today, September 18, marking a significant milestone in the crypto industry. This spot ETF, described as a 'spot ETF with extras,' is more regulated than traditional products.
The partnership between Ripple, global investment company Franklin Templeton, and DBS Bank in Singapore has resulted in the listing of Ripple's stablecoin, RLUSD, and a tokenized version of Franklin Templeton's US dollar money market fund, sgBENJ.
The Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund (GDLC), which includes Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA) as underlying assets, has been approved for trading by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The GDLC, designed to give investors exposure to some of the biggest cryptocurrencies without requiring them to buy and store the coins directly, officially listed and began trading on the NYSE Arca stock exchange on September 19, 2025, under the ticker symbol 'GDLC.'
In the next phase of the collaboration, DBS Bank plans to explore helping clients unlock liquidity by using their sgBENJ tokens as collateral. Eligible DBS clients can trade RLUSD for sgBENJ tokens, enabling them to rebalance their portfolios into a relatively stable asset 24/7 and within minutes, while earning yield during periods of volatility.
The REX-Osprey XTF will hold real XRP, cash, Treasuries, and some derivatives. It will operate as a spot product within a '40 Act wrapper,' making it more regulated than traditional spot products. Grayscale also plans to introduce a product that tracks the performance of numerous cryptocurrencies, including XRP.
The launch of the REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR) and the Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund (GDLC) signify a step forward in the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies. These products provide a more accessible and regulated avenue for investors to gain exposure to the crypto market, potentially attracting a wider audience.
