SSL Labs Boosts Security: TLS 1.0 & 1.1 Now Capped at 'B' Grade

Labcorp has initiated a series of changes to encourage the migration from older TLS protocols. The shift aims to enhance security and align with industry standards.

PCI-DSS has advised switching from TLS 1.0 to TLS 1.2 or later. In line with this, Labcorp has implemented changes on its platforms. Servers supporting TLS 1.0 or TLS 1.1 are now capped at a 'B' grade on both the development server at dev.ssllabs.com and the live server at www.ssllabs.com.

The warning for using TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 has been escalated. The change was initially planned for March 2020 but has been moved forward to January 2020. Browsers will also phase out support for these older protocols at the beginning of 2020. RFC-7525 has previously discouraged the use of these protocols.

Labcorp is committed to improving security standards. The change and warnings are designed to encourage migration to more secure protocols like TLS 1.2 and later. The exact date for the production server change is yet to be specified.
