In a bid to expand its reach beyond its domestic market, the international digital experience company, Sitecore, partnered with VerboLabs to design and execute a comprehensive localization strategy.

The SaaS company, which had already captured its domestic market, was preparing to scale into Europe and Latin America. Recognizing the need for more than just translations, Sitecore realised that it needed strategic localization.

VerboLabs, a specialist in this field, rewrote product descriptions and calls to action for emotional resonance, and localized pricing, currency, and date/time formats. The company also adjusted the brand tone by region, adopting a professional and formal tone for Germany, a conversational and friendly tone for Spain, and an aspirational and expressive tone for Brazil.

The investment in localization was swiftly recouped in just four months. Organic Traffic Surged by 150% through localized SEO, and App Downloads Surged by 180% in localized markets. By the end of the year, ROI exceeded 220%.

One standout success came in Brazil: A localized Valentine's Day campaign delivered a 2.5x higher click-through rate than the English-language version. The bounce rate dropped by 37.5% due to culturally relevant content.

VerboLabs also localized marketing campaigns, translated and adapted UI elements, onboarding flows, and help content. They updated imagery and color palettes to align with cultural expectations, and integrated local payment options for reduced checkout abandonment.

Local SEO was essential to this success. Region-specific keywords fueled organic growth, and VerboLabs conducted region-specific keyword research for localized SEO optimization.

The low conversion rates initially faced by Sitecore were due to the content being translated but not localized. However, with VerboLabs' strategic approach, conversion rates jumped from 0.8% to 4.1%.

Sitecore's collaboration with VerboLabs resulted in a 5x increase in revenue from European and LATAM markets, demonstrating the power of a well-executed localization strategy.
