'Tarkov' Update Falls Short in Resolving Significant Technical Glitches
The recent update for Escape From Tarkov, entitled 0.16.0.0, has faced numerous challenges during its rollout, as numerous technical issues have hindered some gamers' ability to enjoy the new additions. Yesterday, a new patch was introduced, intended to alleviate many of the problems, but players have since reported that several technical glitches remain unaddressed.
Enthusiasts were eager to delve into the fresh content brought by the patch, yet they were promptly disappointed by a myriad of technical problems. While some issues were associated with high server traffic, as thousands of users flocked to participate in the wipe's start, others appeared to be more profound challenges within the game itself.
Players reported experiences such as micro-stutters, severe drops in performance, and being ejected from raids seconds after the map loaded. There were additional issues as well, including gear disappearing despite successful extraction, players retaining their equipment even upon death, and some quests failing to grant proper rewards or unlock new traders.
This unfavorable kickoff for several players prompted developer Battlestate Games to introduce a patch last night, aiming to rectify most of the problems. The comprehensive list of Escape From Tarkov patch notes targeted a multitude of the most pressing player concerns.
However, shortly following the patch's release, users reported that not all the issues had been satisfactorily resolved. The most notable remaining issue seems to be that PvE raids carry a risk of not saving properly, leaving players to extract from a raid without receiving their equipment at the end. This is a significant setback for an extraction-focused game.
Fortunately, Battlestate Games recognizes the problem and is currently working on a new patch to address this and any remaining unresolved issues. In an update on the official Escape From Tarkov social media channels, they announced that a fresh patch would soon be available.
One challenge that may require more time to resolve is Escape From Tarkov's performance, with a noticeable decrease in performance since the latest update. The upgrade to Unity 2022 is probably a contributing factor, so improving performance and optimization might take some time. However, in a recent TarkovTV stream, it was announced that enhancing performance and optimization is one of the primary goals for 2025, so the developers are indeed aware of the problem.
Despite the new patch, players continue to encounter persistent issues, particularly with PvE raids not saving properly. This issue leaves gamers without their equipment upon extracting.
The recent update to Unity 2022 may be contributing to the noticeable decrease in performance in Escape From Tarkov, making optimization a priority for developers. They have acknowledged this problem and plans to address it in the future, specifically aiming for improvements by 2025.
While the patch notes addressed several concerns, players still report problems such as micro-stutters, severe drops in performance, and certain quests not providing proper rewards or unlocking new traders, which are not yet resolved.
