Technological Advancements Captivate at the 32nd Convergence India and 10th Smart Cities India Exhibition
The 32nd Convergence India and 10th Smart Cities Expo 2025, held under the theme "Imagining an AI-Driven Future Today: Innovating for a Better Tomorrow," was a technological extravaganza that brought together over 1,000+ domestic and international companies, including 250 startups and Smart Cities. The event, an initiative by Exhibitions India Group (EIG), was inaugurated by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon'ble Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Government of India.
Russia-based Alfa Bank was a standout winner at the expo, clinching awards in two categories: Global Leader in Fintech and Best Global Use of AI in FinTech. Alexey Kashirin, Head of the Advanced Analytics Department at Alfa Bank, expressed gratitude for the recognition by the FinTech India Innovation Awards.
The expo also featured approximately 40 conference sessions, covering a wide gambit of subjects. Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary & CEO India AI Mission, stated that they are building AI-based applications in key sectors that can be scaled, rolled out, and deployed at scale. Aman Gupta, Co-founder & CMO of boAt, shared insights into India's startup ecosystem during a Fireside Chat session.
The Smart City Pavilion offered an impressive lineup of smart city projects that deliver quality results and enhance millions of citizens' lives. The Fintech and Smart Cities awards received a large number of nominations across various categories. One of the notable winners was the agri-tech startup Fuselage Innovation from Kerala, who won the Prem Behl's Excellence Award at the Investors Pitch competition. Fuselage Innovation received a cash prize of Rs. 1 Lakh, a fully funded participation in GITEX Dubai and GITEX Morocco, and guaranteed pitch slots at the Supernova Challenge 2025 in Berlin.
The event had strong representation from the Ministry of Electronics & IT, including Abhishek Singh, Sanket Bhondve, Joint Secretary, Panneerselvam Madanagopal, CEO, Startup Hub, Sanjeev Shankar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of IB, and A. Dhanalakshmi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Science & Technology.
During the expo, Aman Gupta, who is also a renowned entrepreneur, emphasized that Indian brands should strive to be aspirational rather than affordable. He advised entrepreneurs to stay grounded and take responsibilities seriously. Ms. Chandrika Behl, Managing Director of Exhibitions India Group, stated that the expo fosters technological upgradation and national development.
However, the identity of the person who awarded the prize for the best startup at the investor pitch competition Fuselage Innovation is not publicly disclosed. Despite this, the 32nd Convergence India and 10th Smart Cities Expo 2025 was a resounding success, marking a significant step towards India's technological advancement and smart city development.
