Telecommunications giants, Ericsson and various global telcos, have finalized the establishment of Aduna, a joint venture, aiming to expand network Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) on a global scale.
Aduna, the joint venture established by Ericsson, has announced significant growth in its partnership network. The venture, which was operational since the deal signed on September 11, 2024, now boasts a 50:50 ownership structure between Ericsson and twelve global communication service providers (CSPs).
The twelve CSPs that have invested in Aduna are AT&T, Bharti Airtel, Deutsche Telekom, KDDI, Orange, Reliance Jio, Singtel, Telefonica, Telstra, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Vodafone. Ericsson continues to hold 50% of the venture equity, with the remaining 50% held by these CSPs collectively.
In addition to these strategic partners, Aduna's ecosystem has expanded to include a diverse range of technology and collaboration partners worldwide. Companies such as e& (formerly Etisalat), Bouygues Telecom, Free, CelcomDigi, Softbank, NTT DOCOMO, Google Cloud, Vonage, Sinch, Infobip, Enstream, Bridge Alliance, Syniverse, JT Global, Microsoft, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra are amongst the new partners.
Anthony Bartolo, CEO of Aduna, stated that the closing of the transaction provides renewed motivation for Aduna to accelerate the adoption of network APIs by developers on a global scale. The primary focus of Aduna remains on selling aggregated network APIs globally, enabling network operators to provide services like service level assurance, fraud prevention, and authentication programmatically to developers, leveraging 5G technology in innovative ways.
The closing of the transaction marks another important step for Aduna. Each new partner plays a vital role in advancing the reach and impact of network APIs worldwide, contributing to the industry and developer experience. As Aduna continues to grow, it aims to encourage more telecom operators to join the company, further driving the industry and developer experience.
