Telekom Revolutionizes Fiber Optic Expansion in Germany with Digital Interface

Telekom is revolutionizing fiber optic expansion in Germany with a digital interface to its broadband portal. Meanwhile, MagentaTV tops app store usage in the Telekom network, and Offenburg joins the fiber-optic network expansion.

Telekom's digital interface to the broadband portal marks a first in Germany for fiber optic expansion applications. This tool enables both municipalities and Telekom to monitor project status and make decisions, enhancing transparency and reducing queries.

In August, MagentaTV emerged as the most popular app in the Telekom network, followed by YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Akamai-Cloud, and Instagram. This reflects the growing demand for streaming services.

Telekom's network now covers around 11.6 million businesses and households, offering speeds up to 2,000 Mbit/s. This impressive figure is complemented by over 37.1 million households and companies that can access tariffs up to 100 Mbit/s.

The company's expansion efforts are evident in the 218,000 new fiber optic connections built in August, a 9% increase from the previous year. Offenburg is the latest city to benefit, with Deutsche Telekom laying fiber optic cables to house connections as part of ongoing construction.

Telekom's digital innovation in fiber optic expansion, coupled with strong app store usage and extensive network coverage, demonstrates the company's commitment to improving connectivity. Despite a slight dip in share price on Tuesday morning, the company's progress in network expansion and digital transformation remains promising.
