Tesla introduces its non-Foundation Series Cybertruck in Canada, hikes up the price for the Foundation Series models
Tesla, the leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced a series of changes to its Cybertruck offering for buyers in Canada and the United States. The changes include a new perk for Foundation Series buyers, price adjustments, and the addition of the Cybertruck to Tesla's referral program in Canada.
The most notable change is the introduction of a free vehicle wrap for Foundation Series buyers, courtesy of XPEL. This added touch is designed to enhance the Cybertruck's already distinctive appearance.
However, these changes come with some adjustments to the Cybertruck's pricing. The base price remains unchanged, but extra charges have been introduced for the 20′′ Cyber Wheels ($5,000) and Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability ($11,000), which were previously included in the price.
The price adjustments could be a reaction to the recent fluctuations in the value of the Canadian dollar. In fact, when the Cybertruck was first launched in Canada, the US/CAD exchange rate was approximately $1.35. Today, the rate stands at around $1.45, reflecting a significant drop in the value of the Canadian dollar.
In a move to encourage more purchases, Tesla has also introduced a $1,300 discount for those who use a referral link when purchasing a Cybertruck in Canada. This incentive is in addition to the Cybertruck now being part of Tesla's referral programme in the country.
Unfortunately, there is no information available on which company officially opened non-Foundation series Cybertruck orders in Canada at this time.
These changes aim to offer more value and flexibility to Cybertruck buyers in Canada and the US, while also reflecting the current economic conditions. For more information on these changes and the Cybertruck, visit Tesla's official website.
