The Hyundai Ioniq 5N Electric Vehicle embodies the characteristic sound and feel reminiscent of traditional sports cars.
Hyundai has unveiled its latest addition to the 'N' series, the Ioniq 6N, a high-performance electric sedan that is setting new benchmarks in the world of EVs.
Powered by a 641 hp dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring, the Ioniq 6N accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, thanks to N Launch Control. With a top speed of 257 km/h (160 mph) and a WLTP range of about 291 miles, realistically around 200-240 miles based on driving style, this electric sedan offers an impressive blend of speed and range.
The Ioniq 6N boasts a redesigned suspension with lowered roll center, widened tracks, strut braces for rigidity, and new Electronically Controlled Stroke (ECS) dampers that balance comfort and track-ready performance while adjusting automatically to road conditions.
Enhanced driver engagement technologies include the updated N e-Shift system with motorsport-inspired close gear ratios available in all drive modes, a new ambient shift light for optimal shift points, and an advanced N Drift Optimizer that allows detailed customization of drifting behavior.
Aerodynamics have been carefully designed for high-speed stability and downforce, with a swan-neck rear spoiler, flared fenders, a wider stance, and lightweight performance wheels to reduce unsprung mass and improve handling response.
The Ioniq 6N also features a revamped battery management system (N Battery) that optimizes battery temperature and performance for track and endurance scenarios, reducing conditioning time and maintaining power delivery.
The Ioniq 6N is available in a new exclusive color, Performance Blue Pearl, which adds visual depth to its aggressive, track-focused design.
The Ioniq 6N's N Active Sound+, with the N e-shift function, simulates a manual dual-clutch transmission, aiming to recapture the qualities that many diehard ICE fans feel they have lost with the EV transition. The sound is piped through a 10-speaker audio system, providing a more engaging and exciting driving experience for the driver.
There are three themes available in the N Active Sound+, emulating various sounds such as a 2.0 litre turbocharged Hyundai engine, a 'signature high-performance sound', and a 'Supersonic' theme.
Inside, the Ioniq 6N features racing seats, subtle flashes of signature 'N' 'luminous orange' trim, and a body kit and rear spoiler. The vehicle has a clear sporting bias in its design, both inside and out.
The Ioniq 6N has been well-received by the automotive press, winning a clutch of awards. Priced at £65,010, it is a thoroughly transformed Ioniq 5 hatchback with new technologies designed to improve driver engagement.
Hyundai has also debuted the Ioniq 6N, the next stage in the company's electric performance journey. The car's blend of sharp handling, immersive driving feel, and advanced technologies has set a new benchmark for high-performance EVs.
