Spectrum Expands Broadband Services to Rural Wisconsin Homes and Businesses
Thousands of rural Jefferson County residents gain broader internet access through Spectrum's service expansion
In a move to bridge the digital divide, Spectrum announced Monday it's broadening its broadband, mobile, TV, and voice services to more than 4,200 homes and small businesses in rural Jefferson County, Wisconsin. This expansion is part of a massive $7 billion private investment from Charter, adding over 100,000 miles of fiber-optic network infrastructure.
"Spectrum's bringing gigabit broadband to unserved communities in Wisconsin and across America," said Matt Brown, Area Vice President of Field Operations for Spectrum in Wisconsin. "We're providing residents and small businesses superior connectivity at highly competitive prices, backed by a team of skilled local technicians and 100% U.S.-based customer service."
U.S. Representative Scott Fitzgerald sees this as a major step forward in expanding rural broadband, stating, "This expansion, driven by private investment, will help improve connectivity in rural areas. Ensuring reliable internet access for our rural communities remains a key priority of mine."
Jefferson County Administrator Michael Luckey believes this expansion will have a positive impact on the community. "With Spectrum's help, we've expanded high-speed internet access to over 4,000 additional rural homes and businesses in Jefferson County. This investment will bring much-needed services here and help businesses across the county compete in the digital age."
