Unveiled BMW iX3 'New Class': Boasts a 500-mile driving range and pricing starting at £58,755
On September 25, 2025, BMW revealed its highly anticipated electric SUV, the new iX3, in Munich. The iX3, priced from £58,755, is set to challenge the Audi Q6 e-tron and become a significant competitor in the electric SAV market.
The iX3's design, inspired by the Neue Klasse Concept, showcases a large tail light, a roof spoiler, and a profile reminiscent of the X3. The SUV boasts an impressive 500-mile range, thanks to the use of cylindrical cells for its battery, which are lighter, charge 30% quicker, and are 20% more energy dense.
The iX3 is available in three trim levels: the base iX3, the sporty iX3 M Sport, and the top-tier iX3 M Sport Pro. The SUV's charging speeds can reach up to 400kW, ensuring swift refuelling for those on-the-go.
First deliveries of the iX3 are expected in March next year, following the official unveiling of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X Concept, which previewed BMW's future SAV design and the new BMW iX3. The Vision Neue Klasse X Concept demonstrated BMW's design direction for its future SAV models, with the iX3 embodying these graphic design elements.
The BMW Group is responsible for the development of the Neue Klasse technology used in the iX3, making it the first serial model on the Neue Klasse electric platform featuring new technology and design language. The interior of the iX3 resembles the Panoramic iDrive, with a full-width digital display, haptic controls on the steering wheel, and an 18′′ hexagonal infotainment screen.
Despite facing challenges in selling the number of EVs it was expecting to, BMW is moving forward with the development and production of the new electric BMW iX3. The iX3 offers a maximum power output of 463bhp, making it a formidable competitor in the electric vehicle market.
The unveiling of the iX3 marks a significant step in BMW's efforts to expand its electric vehicle lineup. The BMW Vision Neue Klasse X Concept, leaked ahead of its official debut, serves as a testament to BMW's commitment to innovation and graphic design excellence. The iX3 is BMW's first 'Neue Klasse' model, and it promises to redefine the electric SAV market.
