Upgraded Continuum 2020.5 Features Include Particle Forces, Cartoon Emission Effects, and Transition Enhancements

Boris FX has announced the release of Continuum 2022.5, the latest update to its popular suite of visual effects and transitions for video applications such as Adobe, Avid, FCP X, and OFX.

One of the key features of Continuum 2022.5 is the addition of a cast shadow shader to Studio, a component of Continuum, which allows for the generation of cast shadows from any objects in the scene. This enhancement provides a more realistic and visually appealing look to videos.

The TransitionsUnit in Continuum 2022.5 has also been updated, offering new Crash Zoom Dissolve, Spin Blur Dissolve, and presets. These additions provide editors with more creative options for smooth and dynamic transitions between scenes.

Continuum 2022.5 is available as a permanent license, annual subscription, and upgrade from previous versions. Pricing for a permanent license of Continuum 2022.5 is $1295, while an annual subscription costs $395. For those interested in purchasing individual effects category units, prices start at $199.

Continuum 2022.5 offers improved effects such as Remover, Cast Shadow, and Particle Illusion Dissolve. Particle Illusion, a component of Continuum, has been updated with a new forces feature that creates point and grid forcefields by attracting or repelling particles. Additionally, Continuum 2022.5 includes new retro cartoon emitters for Particle Illusion.

For OFX hosts, upgrades start at $195, annual subscription at $195, and permanent license at $695. For Avid, upgrades start at $495, annual subscription at $495, and permanent license at $1695. For Adobe, upgrades start at $295, annual subscription at $295, and permanent license at $995.

Continuum 2022.5 supports plugin host inclusion for Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Apple FCP X (and Motion 5), and OFX hosts such as Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve, Foundry Nuke, and VEGAS Pro. The latest update also includes native composite modes in Title Studio to blend titles and graphics with the host video source.
