Victory in Hacking Competition at Hagenberg
The Hacking Challenge, an annual event hosted by FH Hagenberg's website in Austria, recently saw its fourth iteration on October 22nd. This year's event attracted 80 participants, including ten active hackers, who gathered to test their skills and tackle complex security issues.
In a statement, Mag. Lukas Praml, Managing Director of the Austrian website, commended the successful event. He emphasised the importance of the Hacking Challenge in attracting the best talents to continue fulfilling high-security tasks. The challenge, he added, is an innovative way to reach young people with an interest in innovation, security, and technology.
This year's Hacking Challenge saw a tie for second place among Stefan Jäger, Tomasz Haberny, and Klaus Ammerstorfer. Meanwhile, Stefan Kettlgruber emerged victorious, taking first place. Daniel Zwirzitz placed third.
The Hacking Challenge is designed to allow IT talents to develop and showcase their technical abilities, while also helping to understand the approach of cybercriminals. In a competitive yet educational environment, participants can improve their skills, network with peers, and potentially gain recognition or rewards for their achievements.
According to Mag. Lukas Praml, the Hacking Challenge is a platform to prove skills and win over game-based challenges, with the ultimate goal of attracting and winning over White-Hats (good hackers) to their cause. As a prize, the winners of this year's Hacking Challenge received Bose SoundLink Bluetooth speakers.
