Vodafone & Kigen Team Up to Streamline IoT Product Development with Worldwide iSIM Connectivity
Vodafone IoT, led by CEO Dennis Nikles, has teamed up with Kigen to streamline IoT product and service development. The collaboration aims to reduce time and operational burden, with a focus on worldwide iSIM connectivity.
Vodafone's extensive global connectivity footprint allows businesses to manufacture IoT devices once and ship them globally. The partnership with Kigen brings iSIM integration during manufacturing, automating connectivity upon deployment. This not only reduces manual installation but also lowers energy consumption.
Erik Brenneis, CEO of Vodafone IoT, expressed his delight in the collaboration, highlighting the benefits of worldwide iSIM connectivity. iSIM, a significant evolution of the traditional SIM, enables secure integration with the chip and reduces device size. It's commercially available on multiple chipsets, with faster delivery times. The service is particularly beneficial for applications using low power, wide area (LPWA) IoT networks.
The partnership between Vodafone Business IoT and Kigen simplifies IoT product development. iSIM technology reduces costs associated with sourcing individual components and negotiating supplier agreements. Businesses can now enjoy simplified production processes, reduced costs, and secure global connectivity.
